Mathias Gnädinger played the leading role in several films by Stefan Jäger, for the very last time in the feature film "Der grosse Sommer". After Gnädinger's unexpected death, the director embarks on a documentary search for clues. Together with his widow, Ursula Zarotti Gnädinger, Stefan Jäger visits companions (Markus Imhoof, Sarah Capretti, Mike Müller, Daniel Rohr and others) and places (Sternenberg, Burkina Faso, Stein am Rhein) that were important to Mathias Gnädinger.
