Oliver Schuett s:wstudied Film and Theatre Studies at the Freie Universität Berlin.

He has worked as an author for film and television since 1986 and as a dramaturge since 1990. For his first screenplay “Koan” he was awarded the German Screenplay Prize in 1988.

In 1995 he founded the Master School for Screenwriting, which he also ran until the end of 2008. In 1995 he also began his extensive career as a teacher at home and abroad.

Two years later, in 1997, he co-founded the development agency Script House, to which he belonged until 2001. In 2000 he initiated the Scriptforum, the only German conference and fair for script and script development, of which he was an artistic director until 2006.

In 2001 and 2007 he accepted the invitations to be “Writer-in-residence” at the Grinnell-College in the USA.

Since 2013 he has been working as a producer for tellfilm Germany. He also lectures at international film schools and works as a publicist and scriptwriter.

He is the author of “Die Kunst des Drehbuchlesens”, “Schau mir in die Augen, Kleines” and “Fernsehen ist tot”. His first novel “The Red Castle” was published in 2015.

He is a founding member of the German Film Academy.
